first,i must say,reading these comments,i find it nice to hear some good and positive thoughts but overall the feeling i get is a feeling of conflict,its really sad to see that even on a spiritual blog like this people still argue over things like “black or white” “jesus or not jesus” or “rasta/not rasta,selassie/not selassie”..its like everyone thinks she/he got all the answers from its point of view and cant accept diversity.

i just want to share with you all some feelings i have and my vision at this moment after a few years of searching the truth and im telling you that i have nothing to prove to anyone,i already did that to myself and that is all that it matters for me

i think Rasta is a way of life in the first place,a way to God,that is the God of gods that created this univers,God,the Creator and i find it a way of spiritual life,a life of being natural and true to yourself,a life of finding the true self and emancipate our minds from mental slavery and that means a spiritual journey and not a physical one,the body is just a tool for this journey.i have no problems with Rastas,as i have no problems with Muslims,or any other culture or faith or way of spiritual life,a life that seeks first the Kingdom of God,the Creator.i think every culture has its way to God and if its the true God,i find it only right,if its anything else,idols or so,then,anything goes.so Rasta was a way of finding the true God for me also and maybe for many many african slaves scatered all over the earth,whom being forced to think that god and christ is that false paiting on the icons of the slave masters and their churches.if a Rasta say “jah rastafari” and the feeling inside is of the true God Creator and when he say that he thinks about the true God Creator and his son,the Messiah,can you say that is wrong? does the name really have and importance?or the spirit? the spirit of Christ that lives in every part of our body and our true reality,nature,sun,moon and stars? or maybe the thoughts deep insinde or the feeling or the actions he (the rastaman) promotes? lucky dube,who is one of my heros,was asked once “Would you call yourself a ‘Rasta’?” and him answered “Well,it depends, what maybe you understand about Rasta. Sometimes,yes,I would say ‘yes,I’m Rasta’ and then maybe say ‘No,I’m not Rasta…Is it the dreadlocks that makes you a Rasta or is it the togetherness that makes you a Rasta? What is it?A lot of people would say Rasta is one who smokes ganja and one who has got dreadlocks,who goes around shouting ‘Peace brother’,'rastafari’ and stuff.But now,if that’s what Rasta is about, than I am not Rasta..but I would be Rasta,if Rasta is about consciousness,awareness, togetherness and stuff,yes,I would be Rasta,yaa!”.So,i believe that Ras Tafari is a manifestation of God in flesh and if trough him and his teachings people can find their spiritual way to God,that is a right thing for them.lucky dube also said in that interview,when asked “Do you believe we have just one God?” ..”I believe, you know, there´s all these different cultures and whatever, whatever, ways in which we worship God, but there´s only one God, really! Even though we try to make him, we change him. Everybody wants to make God their own. As a Zulu-speaking person I would say maybe Shagga the King, Shagga was actually God. And this one and that one will say this and that. But there´s just one God.”

about “black and white” or whatever…what is black or white anyway? for me,are just 2 words that separate us ..and its the system that makes us use these 2 words,because we dont really learn to learn about eachother,about other cultures.for me,black is the color of creation,then came the light and life,everything started with darkness so i think we all must praise and respect the motherland,Africa,it all started there and we must have it in our hearts.i wear the red,gold & green colors with pride and love everytime,i wear them in the name of Creation,in the name of love for our ancestors,even though im “white” in the “society”.
