“more fire” is an attempt to burn out the false prophets and to accurately portray the Gospel of Christ, which is to love and suffer for others regardless of their ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, class status or political bent. For Christ said:
“They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” Mark 2:17
“more fire” (the title of this blog) is borrowed from the title of an album by Capleton, a ragamuffin musician from Jamaica who is known for chanting “more fiya” in an attempt to incite audiences into zealous revelry. While I hope this blog incites a genuine zeal for the Lord, the meaning that I apply to “more fire” is not related to Capleton but to a saying about Jesus Christ by John the Baptist:
“I baptize you with water for repentance. But He that comes after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.” (Matthew 3:11)
I hope that this blog edifies the Christian believer and casual reader alike. Praise, honor and glory to the Most High God. More fire, more light, more revelation, more intimacy with God!

Comment by Immanuel November 2, 2006 @ 5:07 amI am a newbie to the blogger world. I have started a blog and have gone about as far as I can. Any helpful tips would be great. Blessings as you invade the darkness.
Wow, I think you’re really catching the essence of the gospel here, and becoming like Jesus in the process. I see you side-stepping dead-end issues and coming back to loving. Way to go, you helped me today!
Comment by Monte December 21, 2006 @ 7:00 pmThanks for coming by my blog, too. You’re welcome anytime, and your comments are welcome.
Hey Jason, I poked around and read your two most recent posts, your testimony and this section. I really was encouraged by what I read in a lot of ways. May our Lord bless and keep you. And may you keep writing. I will keep reading.
Blessings,
Wayne at Common Blue
ps I hope you do get to see Children of Men, it was a great film
Comment by Wayne February 3, 2007 @ 12:41 amI’ve gotten a lot out of a number of your posts in the last 15 minutes or so of browsing. I’m adding you to my blogroll and will continue to check in for your insights. Also, thanks for posting your testimony. I don’t like to “rank” testimonies by saying “Yours is amazing” implying that others aren’t. What I appreciate is how detailed and honest your portrayal is. Thanks!
